Hi all!

I had my first event yesterday and it was a success! There was a company putting on a community event for people who may be struggling and going through some tough times. They had a lot of families come and a bunch of free give aways. It was a great event with, lots of people and Santa Claus even made an appearance.

How did I find the event? I've been doing a lot of research online through CL, google, newspapers for upcoming fairs, events and even checking out big name venues such as CalExpo. Seems like there are many events going on within the coming months. I found this event through Craigslist. It was fairly easy to book the event with a small vendor fee.

There was some challenges preparing for the event but the more you do it, the more you will become a pro. Here are some tips for planning your first event:
  • Make sure you email, connect with the agency and state your interest. Ask questions such as how many people will be in attendance, location, time, what time you should arrive for prep, how big are the tables, will you be close to a plug (if you need it), cost to be a vendor.
  • Order more items and make sure you have enough. (for more info on how many you should order, read the Paparazzi Accessories Manual) Order a wide variety of items. You never know what people like. Don't forget to ask them who is the target audience (ie. Family, suggestion would be to stock on youth items than you normally would)
  • Think about how you want to set up our booth: table cloth, jewelry holders...what would make it stand out. For this first one, I put my shadow box up, necklace stand and some bowls at Goodwill for rings and youth items. BE CREATIVE! Make your own. There are many DIY items out there you can do. It doesn't really have to be super expensive. Make it your own.
  • One thing that was really helpful for me was I had a Square- which allows you to accept credit cards on hand through your smart phone. Super convenient!
  • The night before: PACK ALL ITEMS and make sure to double check. The next morning should be just going to the venue and setting up.
  • Make sure you have extra change in smaller bills and quarters.
  • Keep extra flyers and business cards on hand. Let customers know if they would like to host a party, you are available. Of if they are looking for specific items for a special night, or someone's birthday, you can meet them in a public space. Promote your website, facebook or other social media site you have set up. For those interested in becoming a consultant or hosting a part, make sure you also get their information and follow up no more later than a week.
  • HAVE FUN! Be PROUD of yourself because YOU did this all your own. YOU made this happen!
  • Last step is to think about positives, negatives and how it could be better next time around.

Hi folks!!

Been a busy two weeks for me. Headed to San Luis Obispo last week for a work trip and brought my huge jewelry box and was able to sell some items  =)  Seriously, the jewelry sell themselves.

Just got a new shipment in today and have been getting ready for the Community Event this coming weekend. My first time being a vendor for Paparazzi!! I'm hoping it will go well. Been working on trying finishing up a DIY Jewelry Holder and uploading pics of new items.

Stay tuned!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I finally was able to take some pics of the new stock I got in.  I got a bunch of new jewelry specifically in yellows, blues, blacks and whites. I also got in some feathered earrings which are adorable! Some girl items (rings and earrings) and hair clips. Here's a few pics. Still have to upload and edit the rest of the items. Super cute stuff! Took my huge jewelry box to my Aunt's house for our Thanksgiving get together and my family bought a bunch of stuff. It worked out great!

By no means am I a photographer but after some google search on how to take the best pics of jewelry, I made my own make shift light box. It is very easy to do, affordable and it really does make a huge difference.

If you're interested in making your own, here are the websites that I utilized. http://www.ninthandbird.com/2011/12/diy-photo-light-box-take-better-photos.html

I also found a photo editing program online that works wonders Very user friendly and easy to use.

What have I got myself into!

My life has taken a whirlwind the past couple of months! Long story short, I moved to Sacramento for my dream job and within a couple of months, I got my car stolen. Luckily, I was able to get it back but that made me start thinking I need to save up for another car. I started looking for potential part time jobs but there wasn't anything that really stood out to me until I saw an add about Paparazzi Jewelry and Accessories. I replied to the email and we went back and forth and finally set up a time to meet.

I met Christina at a near by restaurant and she showed me the different types of jewelry and hair accessories they had: necklaces, bracelets, rings, teen jewelry, hair clips and hair bands. What made these items remarkably different was the price for $5. EVERYTHING was ONLY $5. Oh and all the necklaces came with matching earrings. And the Compensation Plan for recruiting new consultants isn't bad either.

Signing up for a home based business didn't come easy. I had to really sit down and think if this was something that I can really do, dedicated my time and put immense commitment. After much contemplation I decided to join! WHY?

* I've always wanted to learn how to run my own business and what it would take to do so. From developing outreach materials to budgeting. I'm always up for a challenge and this is totally out of my comfort zone.

* I believe in the product that I'm selling. After bringing it to work one day, the look on my coworkers faces was priceless! The moment I opened my box, they just couldn't stop saying how cute the jewelry was. It was then that I realized that there was something here. The next day, all my coworkes came in looking a little brighter and brighter. They all matched the jewelry to their clothes for the days. And they ask me when I'm going to get another shipment in!

* It's a very reasonable price and super affordable. At $5 each item, what's not to love! It doesn't hurt your pockets and there are many different items for everyone.

* Financial stability. I want to be able to save for a rainy day for those emergency moments. Plus, there is nothing more relieving and empowering knowing that I am financially stable.

* One thing that Paparazzi Jewelry prides itself in is helping women become entrepreneurs. I want to be able to help other women who have thought about having their own business. And if Paprazzi Jewelry is their initial steps to owning a business, it would be awesome to know that I have helped someone get there.

* I want to be able to help other women succeed in reaching their goals, whatever it may be. their own goals.  Whether it's paying off student loans, helping a family in need in the hospital or buying a brand new car.

I've only been with Paparazzi for less than a month and have seen a difference already. Getting compliments of the jewelry, coworkers and friends asking for new items and definitely helping with my financial situation. Every little bit has helped!
